F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long will my dress take to sell?
A: It’s hard to say. Some dresses will sell almost immediately, others may take a few months…it all depends whether the right buyer is looking at the right time.
We allow your advert to remain for a whole year to give as much time as possible. We obviously cannot guarantee that your item will sell as bridal fashions do change over time.
Q: How many pictures can I post?
A: We have not placed a limit on the number of pictures you can post, but we do reserve the right to remove any inappropriate photos that don’t relate to your dress. Please do not abuse our trust by placing hundreds of photos on a single listing. Anyone caught actively abusing this facility or spamming this site will be banned from future use and their advert will be deleted without a refund.
Q: Will you buy my dress?
A: No, we do not buy dresses. We just provide you with a place to advertise your dress. All sales are a private agreement between you and the buyer.
Q: Can I really list my dress for FREE?
A: Yes! We are currently accepting free listings for a limited time only as part of the promotion of our new website. This offer allows you to place an unlimited number of standard listings (usually £9.99) which will run for an entire year, with no catches, no hidden extras and NO sales calls! Free means free! Currently we only charge sellers for our optional enhanced listings (£14.99) but this option is clearly marked and requires you to opt in.
Q: How do buyers find your site?
A: We advertise this site across the web and like our visitors to talk about it too. In fact you can help us to advertise your item for sale by clicking on the social networking buttons at the bottom of your advert (like the ones at the bottom of this page) and adding it to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc or by adding a link to your blog if you have one. Inbound links help our site to rank higher in search engine results and increase the likelihood of you selling your dress!
Q: Why do you advise against entering a full address in the listing?
A: The listing pages have a connection to Google Maps. If you put your full address, then your house will be marked on the map. In the interests of your safety we recommend that you keep things a little vague until you have spoken to the potential buyer. By supplying your Town and County only, any interested party will be able to accurately determine the distances involved. This will give the buyer an idea of how close you are to them and allow them to work out if it will be worth travelling to view the dress. When they have made contact with you, then you can give them your address directly.
Q: What is an ‘Enhanced’ listing and how much do you charge for one?
A: Enhanced listings are highlighted in yellow and rise to the top of the listings for each appropriate search. They stand out from the crowd! We currently charge £14.99 which is payable via Paypal.
Q: How will the potential buyer contact me?
A: When you add a listing we ask you to include a telephone number. This will be publicly displayed on the site as your main contact point. We also ask you for a valid email address. We do not give out your email address, but we do allow the buyer to contact you via a secure form that is processed by our servers and then sent to your email address. This keeps your email address private, unless you choose to reveal it to the buyer.
